Worked for Lilly Industries in Indianapolis for 41 years. This was an independent company and not part of Eli Lilly. The company produced industrial coatingsfor sale in the US and overseas Started as a Chemical engineer, managed the technical department, and moved into sales management and general management of the Indianapolis unit of the corporation. Served on thecorporation's Board of Directrs for 23 years. Yearly sales from this plant of 300 people were$75M; Corporate sales from all plants was $250M. Company was sold to Valspar in 2000. A member of the Indianapolis chapter of SCORE for 17 years. Served as chairman for two years and currently the District Director for the State of Indiana. While much of my experience was research and development, I was able to work with our sales force in the field as a technical support person. My marketing experience was mainly in the field of industrial products. I have helped many small businesses to create a strategic plan to promote the growth of their business. I have also serve on advisory boards for several companies. I have mentored not for profit startups and existing businesses and recently facilitated the development of a strategic plan for an Arts Council in Indianapolis. I managed a sales force of 35 and have experience in sales compensation. |
